Masciarelli Gianni Masciarelli Montepulciano d'Abruzzo 2019 is a smooth red wine with aromas of red fruit, violet notes and hints of tobacco. On the palate it is intense, lively and fresh. A very gastronomic red wine with marked acidity and extraordinary versatility.
Gianni Masciarelli is one of the famous names behind the revival of wine in Abruzzo, the Italian region east of Rome that had previously been overlooked by the rest of the world. Thanks to the passion for the vineyard that Gianni got from his paternal grandfather, he began to create his own wines and in a short time he had turned his project into one of the largest and highest quality in the area and one of the great ambassadors of Italian wine all around the world. But unfortunately Gianni died too soon and Marina Cvetic, who was his partner both personally and professionally, wanted to pay tribute to him with a range of wines named after him. This is how Masciarelli Gianni Masciarelli was born, a collection of lively, fruity and very gastronomic wines that perfectly reflect the soul of Abruzzo and its great instigator Gianni Masciarelli.
Among the wines she has launched, Masciarelli Gianni Masciarelli Montepulciano d'Abruzzo is a single-variety Montepulciano d'Abruzzo red wine from vineyards in Loreto Aprutino, a municipality in the province of Pescara. These are old vines planted on clay and limestone soils at an altitude of 350 metres above sea level. In the winery, fermentation is carried out at controlled temperatures in stainless steel tanks and then the wine is aged for 20 months in these same tanks.
A symbol of the success of modern production in Abruzzo, Masciarelli Gianni Masciarelli Montepulciano d'Abruzzo is one of the great leaders of this movement. A perfect fusion of elegance and joy.
