Markus Molitor Haus Klosterberg Trocken is a monovarietal Riesling white wine within the VDP Mosel-Saar-Ruwer produced by Markus Molitor.
Molitor is a winery that has been run by the family whose surname it bears for 8 generations. The latest to take the reins, Markus Molitor, decided to take charge of the family winery in 1984 when he was 20 years old. Since its inception its aim has been to produce the best Riesling in Moselle. They cultivate Pinot Blanc and Riesling, and some of their plots have slate soils and some of them are on slopes with an incline of up to 80%.
The vineyards for Markus Molitor Haus Klosterberg Trocken are located on the banks of the Moselle, in plots with steep slopes and slate soils. They are harvested manually and have yields of less than 55 hectolitres per hectare. In the cellar the
Markus Molitor Haus Klosterberg Trocken harvest is pressed gently and the wort then macerates with the skins for several hours. It then ferments with natural yeasts in stainless steel tanks for about 3 months. Lastly, the wine is aged on lees for 3 months in wooden barrels.
Markus Molitor Haus Klosterberg Trocken is a white from Moselle produced by a winery with a lot of history. A nice, fresh, fruity and balanced white.
