Marco de Bartoli Marsala Vigna la Miccia Oro 5 anni 50 cl. is a Grillo variety fortified wine produced by Marco de Bartoli in the D.O.P. Marsala.

After leaving behind a successful career as a racing driver, Marco de Bartoli has gone back to his origins to revive the family business. This has seen him create a new style of Marsala, combining tradition with innovative production methods. He reconstructed his mother’s old winery in Samperi, on the outskirts of Marsala and incorporated old solera barrels used for aged Grillo variety wines to make the aged Marsala.

Marco de Bartoli Marsala Vigna la Miccia Oro 5 anni 50 cl. comes from exclusive Grillo variety vineyards on the estate. This grape variety matures with a high alcohol potential, as well as holding onto its acidity. They cultivate using organic, chemical-free methods and the harvest is carried out manually before the grapes are fully ripe.

Marco de Bartoli Marsala Vigna la Miccia Oro 5 anni 50 cl. is vinified through a process of cold maceration with native yeasts. The wine is fortified using only mistela produced by the winery itself. It is then aged for 4 years in 225l French oak barrels that are constantly filled with new wine using the solera method. The wine is ready in five years after resting in the bottle for 6 months.

Marco de Bartoli Marsala Vigna la Miccia Oro 5 anni 50 cl. is a fortified Marsala wine that is classified as ‘oro’ or ‘gold’ with a subtlety and elegance that give it a unique personality.
