Characteristics Louis Latour Chablis 1º Cru Fourchaume
Louis Latour Chablis 1er Cru Fourchaume is a Premier Cru monovarietal Chardonnay white wine produced by Louis Latour in Chablis, Burgundy.
Louis Latour is one of the most prestigious wineries in Burgundy. It owns 50 hectares, and not only produces its wines but also acts as a Negociant, buying and vivifying grapes from third parties. It cultivates the native Pinot Noir and Chardonnay varieties and trains its vineyards by pruning them in "Guyot simple" to achieve low yields and a balanced and quality grape.
The vineyards for Louis Latour Chablis 1er Cru Fourchaume have an average age of 35 years and their soils are mainly composed of Portland and Kimmeridge limestone from the late Jurassic period. Its average production is 40hl per hectare, and the grapes are harvested mechanically.
Louis Latour Chablis 1er Cru Fourchaume is fermented at a controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks. The wine undergoes malolactic fermentation so that it is not so acidic and gains complexity and lactic touches.
Louis Latour Chablis 1er Cru Fourchaume is an elegant wine that is even more complex and with more body than the basic Chablis by the same house.
