Louis Latour is a family winery with a long tradition in Burgundy. It owns its own cooperage and has some 50 hectares of vineyards. It also operates as a Negociant, a very widespread figure in France that refers to one who buys wine or grapes to vinify and market under their name.
The vineyards for Louis Latour Beaujolais-Villages Chameroy are approximately 30 years old, and their soils are of pink granite. The average yields are 45hl per hectare, and the harvest is carried out manually.
Louis Latour Beaujolais-Villages Chameroy is fermented in open vats. Once the wine is finished it is subjected to 10 to 12 months of ageing in stainless steel tanks so that the wine can settle and come onto the market at its optimum point.
