Los Loros Lías is a white wine aged on lees made with the Listán Blanca variety in Santa Cruz de Tenerife (Canary Islands) by the winemaker Juan Fco Fariña Pérez.

Until 1999 Juan Fco Fariña Pérez was a family winery that produced wines in bulk. But now there is a new generation in charge who are keen to make their own bottled wines. To do this, they cultivate vineyards planted with native varieties like Listán, Vijariego and Albillo and ensure minimal intervention in the winery. This results in wines with a very unique personality that reveal the essence of the island.

Los Loros Lías comes from the highest plot on the El Borujo estate. Vineyards lying 750 metres above sea level in the town of Arafo, in the Güímar Valley (Santa Cruz de Tenerife). The strains are planted in sand, clay and granite soils and cultivated using respectful agriculture with organic techniques that do not harm the environment. Once the grapes reach optimum ripeness, they are selected and harvested manually in 15 kg boxes.

In the winery, the Los Loros Lías grapes are destemmed and passed through a horizontal pneumatic press. They are then static settled in stainless steel tanks for 24 hours and spontaneous fermentation begins with native yeasts at a controlled temperature of 18-20ºC. It then ages on its own lees for 10 months in oak barrels and is riddled every 15-20 days. Finally it is bottled without filtering or clarifying and only a small amount of sulphur is added.

Los Loros Lías is a white wine with typical characteristics of the area. Freshness and primary aromas for those who want to enjoy the island’s nature in a glass.
