Lo Món is an excellent red wine from the IO Priorat prepared by the Trossos del Priorat. The Trossos del Priorat winery is a young winery, founded in 2004, with the idea of producing wines of terroir, expressive wines that represent the whole personality of the Priorat. Lo Món is made with four typical varieties of Priorat: Grenache, Carignan, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah.
The grapes come from small vinyards owned by the winery, grown organically in the town of Gratallops. The soils are slate, called licorella in the Priorat. This soil gives the wine a very special personality.
The harvest is done manually and grapes undergo a double selection. A first selection is made in the vineyard, and a second in the cellar. Lo Món is aged fior 12 months in 225 litre French oak barrels. One third of the barrels are new, another third are a year old, and the rest are two years old.
We recommend decanting this wine at least an hour before serving. A concentrated wine, a fresh and very tasty Priorat.
A good entrance. Intense, fruity, silky and very sweet.
Good acidity and soft tannins. Long finish. Sweet black fruit aftertaste.
Very balanced and rich in nuances. Black and red fruit. Toasted spices, cocoa, anise, herbs, minerals and violets on a slate background.
