Les Vins du Cabanon Poudre d'Escampette is an organic, natural, cask made red wine by Les Vins du Cabanon with the Monastrell, Garnacha Tinta, Garnacha Gris, Syrah and Garnacha Blanca varieties in the French production area Languedoc-Roussillon (Vin de France).
 
The meticulous work of Alain Castex is behind the natural wines Les Vins du Cabanon. An oenologist who has always defended organic farming and low interventionist winemaking and who, after selling the winery Le Casot de Mailloles which he created with his now ex-wife, has semi-retired, working only 1 hectare of vineyard he still holds in the town of Trouillas (Roussillon).
 
Les Vins du Cabanon Poudre d'Escampette comes from centennial vines planted in low-yielding clay soils. Work in the field is completely manual and without the use of chemicals which can harm the natural environment. It’s cultivated under biodynamic precepts and harvest is carried out manually when the grapes reach optimum maturation. 
 
In the cellar the Les Vins du Cabanon Poudre d'Escampette grapes are vinified separately. The Cariñena variety goes through carbonic maceration and the rest of the varieties are trodden and macerated for 5-6 days in stainless steel tanks. Fermentation is spontaneous with native yeasts and undergoes a short aging in old tanks. It’s bottled without clarifying, filtering or adding sulphites. 
 
Les Vins du Cabanon Poudre d'Escampette is one of the four representatives of this small winery which produces naturally, located in the south of France. A wine which is fresh, fruity and full of energy, reflecting the character of the terroir.
