Les Vignes de Bila-Haut Blanc is a white wine from the Appellation Côtes du Roussillon Controlée made from White Grenache with touches of Macabeo and Grey Grenache. Itis produced by Domaine de Bila-Haut.
Domaine de Bila-Haut is a winery run by Michele Chapoutier, of Maison Chapoutier, a prestigious winery, originally from Burgundy and founded in 1808. It has been one of the precursors and promoters of biodynamic cultivation in France.
One part of the vineyards for Les Vignes de Bila-Haut Blanc are in the Agly Valley, and its soils are calcareous and clay. The other, on granite soils, is located at a higher altitude, about 500 metres above sea level.
The bunches for Les Vignes de Bila-Haut Blanc are pressed, and the must is disgorged cold to leave it clean and to ensure that the fermentation proceeds properly. Fermentation is carried out in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature.
