Characteristics Les Sorts Jove

Les Sorts Jove is a red wine from the IO Montsant elaborated by Celler el Masroig. This wine is made by blending Carignan (40%), Syrah (30%), Tempranillo (20%) and Grenache (10%).

The grapes are grown in the grounds of the estate, where the soils are predominantly red clay. The harvest is done manually in small boxes so that the grapes arrive at the winery whole. They are stored in carbon dioxide tanks.

Fermentation, which follows the process of carbonic maceration, allows the wine to get more aromatic and intense in colour and begins with the must of grapes released at the bottom of the tank when the grapes are crushed. Les Sorts Jove is then decanted in stainless steel tanks where alcoholic fermentation begins.

Finally, before bottling, it passes through a light filtering process.

To fully enjoy this wine, it is recommended that it is lightly chilled before serving.

Celler Masroig was founded in 1917 and is one of the most important wineries in the Priorat. It is indeed the largest winery in the IO Montsant, it has 500 hectares of vineyard on its property.

Sweet and powerful. Balanced, with good acidity. Carbonic maceration gives it freshness.

This young Spanish wine produced by Celler Masroig is very fresh and very nice. Its soft, light notes of very tasty and expressive red fruit are nuanced by a good creaminess. Lively acidity and good but not very persistent finish. A round wine, that surprises by its freshness and its fruity aromas. Perfect to be enjoyed in relaxed moments.
