Les Héritiers du Comte Lafon Mâcon-Bussières is a biodynamic, barrel-aged white wine made by Les Héritiers du Comte Lafon in the AOC Mâcon (Burgundy) with the Chardonnay variety.
The Les Héritiers du Comte Lafon winery was founded in 1999 by Dominque Lafon, a pioneer in biodynamics. Realising the Mâconnais area’s potential, he was the first Cote d’Or producer who knew how to get the best out of this wine-growing area, leaving volume behind in favour of maximum quality. In a short time, he became a leading producer of Mâconnais wines.
Les Héritiers du Comte Lafon Mâcon-Bussières comes from one of Heritiers du Comte Lafon’s highest vineyards lying at 250 metres above sea level. Located just below the rock of Monsard, in the village of Bussières, this is a 0.74 hectare vineyard with clay and calcareous soil. The team use biodynamic agriculture and the harvest is carried out manually when the grapes reach optimum ripeness.
In the winery, the Les Héritiers du Comte Lafon Mâcon-Bussières grapes are carefully selected first and then gently pressed. The resulting must is then vinified in large 41 to 45 hectolitre oval wooden casks with native yeasts. Finally the wine ages for 7 and 8 months on its lees.
Les Héritiers du Comte Lafon Mâcon-Bussières is a consistent Chardonnay white wine made from an elegant cuveé with a delicious mineral touch.
