Characteristics Les Fumées Blanches Rosé

Real reviews from customers who have purchased this product

Les Fumées Blanches Rosé is a single-variety Cabernet Sauvignon rosé wine made by Domaines François Lurton under the Vignoble du Sud-Ouest label, in Gascogne, France.

Les Fumées Blanches is a reference to the morning mists that move through the vines like white smoke whilst also protecting them from the southern French sunlight.

To make Les Fumées Blanches Rosé, the clusters are harvested at dawn to avoid oxidation. After maceration, which gives the wine its colour, they are pressed lightly and vinified at a controlled temperature to preserve the variety’s aromas. The resulting wine ages on its lees for a short time before being bottled to preserve its full freshness.

The Domaines François Lurton winery has started to implement organic farming principles, seeking natural alternatives to combat weeds, diseases and insects that attack the vine. This work is all done with the aim of producing increasingly honest wines that show respect for the soil and varieties by intervening less throughout the process. The Domaine winery always says that “as well as being healthier, an organic wine also has to be a good wine”.
