Larmandier-Bernier Rosé de Saignée is a sparkling wine made by Larmandier-Bernier with the Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris varieties in the AOC Champagne, in the Champagne region (France).
Located in the town of Vertus, Larmandier-Bernier is one of the most respected producers in the Champagne region. A local pioneer, this winery has been committed to biodynamic work across their 16 hectares of vineyards since 2000, and their wines are known for their great purity, marked minerality, and perfect maturity.
Larmandier-Bernier Rosé de Saignée is made from the Larmandier family vineyards in the south of the village of Vertus. These are old vines planted in predominantly clay-calcareous soils that are cultivated according to biodynamic principles and taking into account the lunar phases in every process.
In the winery, the Larmandier-Bernier Rosé de Saignée grapes are partially destemmed and cold macerated for 2-3 days. Fermentation takes place with native yeasts in stainless steel tanks and the wine stays there on lees for a year. There is then a second fermentation in the bottle where the wine ages for at least 2 years before disgorging. Finally it is topped up with 3gr / l of dosage.
Made by an innovator in the traditional champagne market, Larmandier-Bernier Rosé de Saignée is a clear example of meticulous and respectful work. A delicate, pure and mineral champagne that perfectly reflects its birthplace.
