La Salada El Pagès Content is a journey into Penedès made with the Sumoll, Macabeo, Xarel·lo, Parellada and Garnacha Blanca varieties. A varied cuvée made from vines that have never been ploughed or chemically treated but are cultivated in an artisan way by Toni Carbó.

After running a project with his childhood friend Ramon Jané at Mas Candí and selling wines made with native varieties and minimal intervention, Toni Carbó took over the family vineyard in the heart of Penedès. He and his wife set up La Salada to create their own natural wines according to biodynamic principles.

El Pagès Content, the happy peasant in Catalan, is a tribute to a way of doing things in the vineyard that has been passed from generation to generation, now faithfully followed by Toni Carbó to produce this wine. His work in the vineyard aims to capture everything the terroir holds and without using oenological products, following artisan methods and the lunar cycles.

Likewise, no chemical products are used in the winery. Once the grapes are carefully pressed, they macerate and ferment with native yeasts and then the wine is refined in ceramic tanks to preserve the full fruitiness and showcase each variety’s most natural expression. After all, La Salada El Pagès Content is a table wine to enjoy even after dinner.
