La Multa Garnacha is a young red wine from Calatayud prepared by The Scottish Volante. It is a single varietal Garnacha.
The grains used for La Multa Garnacha come from old vines between 35 and 50 years old, which are planted on the slopes of Ribota River, about 700 or 800 metres of altitude.
The grapes have a great aromatic concentration thanks to three factors: drainage of strains, low rainfall and high temperature variation between day and night.
After the harvest, the grapes are de-stemmed and passed through a maceration process. La Multa Garnacha is then fermented for about a week with regular pumpings at a controlled temperature of 28 degrees.
Finally, La Multa Garnacha is macerated and bottled. The Scottish Volante is Norrel Robertson, a recognized grower and winemaker. Robertson decided a decade ago to start this new project and create his own wines.
