La Gutina La Sureda is a natural single-variety Garnacha rosé wine produced by the La Gutina winery in the L’Emporda region, Catalonia.
The Garnacha used to make La Gutina La Sureda comes from the La Sureda plot that lies 90 metres above sea level, in the Alt Empordà area, Girona. The vines are harvested manually and the clusters are collected in 13 kilogramme boxes. When they reach the winery, they are destemmed and allowed to macerate for a couple of hours. They are then pressed and fermented with their native yeasts.
The wine is made in stainless steel tanks under a controlled temperature. It stays in the same place to rest until the beginning of the year following the harvest and is bottled without sulphites and without clarifying, correcting or filtering.
La Gutina is a winery and rural house spread across 80 hectares in the Els Aspres area in the Sierra de L’Albera, Girona. The owners Joan Carles Torres and Bárbara Magugliani work with a philosophy of minimal intervention and maximum respect for the beautiful environment around them.
These extraordinary landscapes result in natural wines with a Mediterranean character that are honest, expressive and pure. These wines are, without doubt, here to stay.
