Kistler Hudson Vineyard Chardonnay is a wood-aged white wine made with the Chardonnay variety by Kistler Vineyard in Carneros, California (USA).
Kistler Vineyards was set up in 1978 by Steve Kistler and Mark Bixler with the aim of producing Bordeaux-style Grand Cru wines on the west coast of North America. They make limited production wines of no more than 10,000 boxes that can usually only be purchased through their private mailing list. But now we have it available at Decántalo!
Kistler Hudson Vineyard Chardonnay comes from 80 hectares of vineyards located in Carneros, a wine country in Sonoma County, California. The vines were planted in 1994 on soils with volcanic and marine sediments and they are cultivated using environmentally friendly agriculture and very limited yields. The harvest takes place at night to maintain the intrinsic characteristics of the fruit.
In the winery, Kistler Hudson Vineyard Chardonnay is meticulously vinified with all processes carefully guided. The grapes firstly ferment with native yeasts at a moderate temperature and then the wine ages for 12 months in French oak barrels.
Made by a winery renowned for its cult Chardonnays, Kistler Hudson Vineyard is possibly their most alluring Chardonnay. A white wine of intense concentration and natural balance.
