Joseph Drouhin is a winery founded in 1880 and located in Beaune. For years it has been practicing organic agriculture, thereby seeking to listen to and respect nature. The winery exports its wines to a large number of countries on all continents.
The vineyards for Joseph Drouhin Laforêt Bourgogne Pinot Noir have clay and limestone soils. They are Guyot pruned and have a density of about 10,000 plants per hectare. The yields are relatively low, producing around 57 hectolitres per hectare.
Joseph Drouhin Laforêt Bourgogne Pinot Noir is vinified for 2 or 3 weeks, leaving the must in contact with the skins to extract the desired colour and structure. Fermentation takes place with native yeasts at a controlled temperature. Lastly, the wine ages in vats and in 1 to 2 year old barrels for a period of 7 to 8 months.
