Intramurs de Poblet Blanc is a white wine from the D.O Conca de Barberà produced by the winery Abadía de Poblet.

The winery from Poblet (Tarragona) is owned by the group Codorníu. This winery was born with the purpose, to regain the lost tradition of Císter, a monastic order that ever since the 7th century were producing wine in Bourgogne, mainly from the variety Pinot Noir.

Intramurs de Poblet Blanc is 100% produced from the variety chardonnay. The vineyards are planted in deep, stony and slate soils.

The production is performed following a tradition winemaking process.

The Bodega Abadía de Poblet Monastery was born from the desire to recover the tradition of wine in his monastery, an ancient tradition, characteristic of the Cistercian Order, which started in Burgundy and linked with a single variety of grapes: Pinot Noir, a delicate and difficult variety, giving soft and elegant wines, unique in its finesse and away, for their style, from any other known red wine.
As with many other Catalonian wine regions, the DO. Conca de Barberà is developing its own territorial identity that over the years has been redefining the personality of the wines and the region, with the help of the red Trepat grape variety. The Trepat grape can be used to produce good sparkling rosés, rosés with character, fresh red wines, as well as elegant blanc de noirs. In just a few years the region and this grape variety have shown their potential, their versatility, and the possibility of carrying out R&D (Research and Development) with them. There are still few wineries who produce single variety wines using this grape, but most importantly, all of them have become aware of the obligation to enhance the uniqueness that defines the territory and the new style of wine to be imposed in the twenty-first century.
