Hacienda Monasterio Crianza is a red wine from D.O. Ribera del Duero produced by Bodegas Hacienda Monasterio.
This winery has advice from the well know oenologist Peter Sisseck, famous for producing Pingus, one of the most well-known wines in Spain.
Hacienda Monasterio Crianza is a coupage of Tinto Fino (80%), Cabernet-Sauvignon (10%) and Merlot (10%). The base is a Tinto Fino variety, the reigning variety in D.O. Ribera del Duero. The grape is grown in a unique estate with limestone soil that causes the wine to be fine and elegant.
Hacienda Monasterio follows an organic farming method, they do not use pesticides nor herbicides nor any type of chemical fertilizers.
The harvest is done by hand and the grapes are transported to the winery in small plastic crates that conserve the quality of the grapes.
Once they arrive at the winery, the grapes undergo a selection process where they only use the bunches that have encountered optimum conditions.
The grapes are destemmed and macerated for 20 days. For the fermentation, Hacienda Monasterio only uses natural yeast from their own vineyards.
Hacienda Monasterio Crianza undergoes an aging of 18 months in French Allier oak barrels, 30% new barrels and 70% barrels for 2 wines, applying racking every 3 months.
An excellent wine that strongly represents the soul of the Ribera del Duero and its Tinto Fino variety with a great aging potential in the bottle.

They follow organic farming methods with a profound respect for the land with a meticulous and very careful production process.
Ribera del Duero wine is one of the most prestigious wines in Spain. Red wines made with Tinto Fino variety grapes, with highly complex aromas, fine on the palate and with a great storage capacity. The wines of Ribera del Duero present a perfect balance between the vividness of the fruit and the refinement of the wood, which has led to them obtaining a well-deserved international acclaim.
