Gut Oggau Weiss is a natural white wine made by the Gut Oggau winery with the Gruner Veltliner, Weissburgunder, Gewurtztraminer and Welschriesling varieties in Neusiedlersee-Hügelland (Burgenland).

Gut Oggau is a project run by Stephanie and Eduard Tscheppe who, in 2007, acquired the winery with 18 hectares of abandoned vineyards where they were able to start working biodynamically immediately. Their main objective was to make regional and authentic wines. Each of these wines has its own personality and is identified with a fictional character from the great Gut Oggau family.

The Gut Oggau Weiss grape comes from 35-year-old vineyards planted in limestone and shale soils. Biodynamic, Demeter-certified strains where they work to maintain the natural balance of the strain with minimal human intervention. When the grape reaches optimum ripeness, it is harvested by hand.

Made with partially destemmed grapes, Gut Oggau Weiss ferments with its own skins for a few weeks. Fermentation takes place in small barrels where the wine ages for 11 months. It is then bottled without clarifying, filtering or adding sulphites.

Gut Oggau Weiss is a dry, medium-bodied white wine made with a mixture of the grapes used to make the Theodora, Timotheus, Emmeram and Mechthild white wines. A whole family gathering where the spirit of youth and the wisdom of maturity meet.
