Gulfi Cerasoulo di Vittoria Gulfi is an organic red wine made in the DOCG Cerasuolo di Vittoria (Sicily) by Bodega Gulfi using the native Nero d'Avola and Frappato varieties.
If there is one thing Gulfi's wines stand out for, it is the natural approach used to make them. These are wines made using ancient and non-invasive practices in the beautiful surroundings of Chiaramonte (Sicily). The vineyards have been passed down from generation to generation to make wines that reflect the territory they come from, without intervening in the winemaking process in a way that would mask that.
Gulfi Cerasoulo di Vittoria Gulfi comes from a one-hectare vineyard lying at an altitude of 420 metres above sea level and planted on calcareous and clay soil. With a planting density of 8,300 vines per hectare, they enjoy a temperate, Mediterranean climate, marked by significant temperature changes. They use organic and biodynamic methods, respecting the natural balance of the strain. The harvest is carried out manually in mid-September.
The Gulfi Cerasoulo di Vittoria Gulfi grapes are vinified in stainless steel tanks with a short temperature-controlled maceration. After malolactic fermentation has taken place in the same tank, the wine is bottled and rests in the winery for about a year before being sold.
Gulfi Cerasoulo di Vittoria Gulfi is influenced by the salty aromas of the Mediterranean. The perfect combination of the Nero d'Avola variety’s intensity and the Frappato’s affability.
