Guelbenzu Evo is a red wine coupage of the Cabernet Sauvignon, Graciano, Tempranillo, Merlot and Syrah varieties produced by the Guelbenzu winery in the V.T. Ribera del Queiles, in Zaragoza, Spain.
The clusters used to make the Guelbenzu Evo wine come from the Finca La Lombana, their own vineyard in Vierlas, Zaragoza, which has fluvial soil made up of gravel and sand. The vines have an average age of 20 years old.
The plots are harvested manually and alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature. The resulting wine undergoes malolactic fermentation in oak vats and then ages for 12 months in French oak barrels.
Evo means “duration of eternal things” which is the Guelbenzu winery’s statement of intent: that this Guelbenzu Evo is made to improve over time.
