La Maca is a white wine from D.O. Penedés, made by the Gramona winery, located in Sant Sadurní d'Anoia.
Gramona is a family winery dedicated to producing wines and cavas for more than 120 years. In the last few years, they have swung towards ecological viticulture, and even biodynamic precepts in some of their plots.
La Maca comes from a Macabeo plot called 'El Tòful', spread across 2 hectares, one planted in 1969, and the other in 1998. The estate is harvested manually and has a selection table on entering the winery. The grapes are pressed and cold-macerated for 2-3 weeks with their thick lees. Fermentation is carried out in amphoras and then the wine rests in the bottle for 6 months.
