Giovanni Menti Riva Arsiglia is a natural white wine made by Giovanni Menti in the Italian area of Veneto with the native Garganega variety.
Giovanni Menti is a small winery which has its origins at the end of the 19th century, when Giovanni Menti decided to produce wine for domestic consumption. This work became more professional in 1970 when it was decided to bottle and market the wine in the Gambellara, Recioto di Gambellara and Vin Santo di Gambellara Designations of Origin. Since 2002, Stefano, the last link in the Menti family, has chosen natural and biodynamic methods and moved away from any denomination that might limit his work.
Giovanni Menti Riva Arsiglia comes from a vineyard of 4 hectares at an altitude of 130 meters above sea level. These are vines planted on volcanic soil which are cultivated manually using organic and biodynamic methodologies. A spectacular vineyard where biodiversity reigns and low yields are harvested by hand in small boxes.
In the cellar the Giovanni Menti Riva Arsiglia grapes are gently pressed and the must obtained ferments spontaneously with native yeasts at a controlled temperature of 19-20ºC for 40 days. Finally it remains on its lees before being filtered and bottled.
Giovanni Menti Riva Arsiglia is a wine of volcanic origin. A natural white made with the utmost respect and reminiscent of the authentic Garganega made in the past.
