Gérard Schueller Pinot Noir LN 012 is a natural red wine made by Domaine Schueller with the Pinot Noir variety in the AOC Alsace, in Alsace (France).
Bruno Schueller is a cult figure among minimal intervention winemakers. Domaine Schueller manages to pair nobility with avant-garde by producing risky wines at the family winery. This is a completely unique style that defies local orthodoxy and is crafting the definition of Alsatian wine in its own image.
Gérard Schueller Pinot Noir LN 012 comes from 35-year-old vines planted in remarkable calcareous soils. Bruno's approach is guided by biodynamics but without any certification that could restrict his intuitive process. Once the grapes reach optimum ripeness, they are harvested manually and selected on the vine to preserve the quality of the berry.
In the winery, the Gérard Schueller Pinot Noir LN 012 vinification process begins, keeping to traditional methods and not using oenological additives. Fermentation is spontaneous with native yeasts and the wine ages for 18 months in large French oak barrels. Finally, the wine is bottled without being clarified, filtered or adding sulphites.
Gérard Schueller Pinot Noir LN 012 is a wine that leaves behind conventions in favour of the most authentic typicity. A noble, deep and very exciting wine.
