Gérard Schueller H Pinot Blanc is a natural white wine made by Domaine Schueller with the Pinot Blanc variety in the AOC Alsace, in Alsace (France).
Domaine Schueller was founded at the end of the 1950s in the southwest of Colmar by Gérard Schueller, who wanted to bottle his own wines from the vines he was growing on the estate. Later, in 1982, his son Bruno joined in and began using more adventurous methods, taking an experimental and minimal intervention approach. As a result, he produces original and vibrant wines with a strong influence of the winemaker.
Gérard Schueller H Pinot Blanc comes from magnificent terroirs protected by the mountains to the west, and with notable calcareous soils. They are cultivated using biodynamic agriculture but without official certification that could hinder Bruno’s intuitive process. The harvest is carried out manually at the optimum point of ripeness.
In the winery, the Gérard Schueller H Pinot Blanc grapes are gently pressed and the resulting must spontaneously ferments with native yeasts. The wine then spends 18 months in foudres and finally the wine is bottled unfiltered and without adding sulphites.
Gerard Schueller H Pinot Blanc is not a conventional Alsace vinification. This is a natural white wine that bears the mark of the terroir’s strong character and the personality of winemaker Bruno Schueller. A Pinot Blanc that wonderfully reflects nobility and the avant-garde.
