Characteristics Garnacha de Viña Bonita
Garnacha de Viña Bonita is a red wine made in Vinos de Madrid by Bodegas Bernabeleva in San Martin de Valdeiglesias, Madrid.
Wines by Bernabeleva express a wide variety of subtle nuances, due to the different vegetation, the diversity in climates and the different types of soil which have a clear impact on the final product. Founded in 1923, the winery makes red and white wines. Among the red wines, the care with which the Garnacha grape is cultivated stands out, and the common denominator among the white wines is the Albillo, the DO's main variety.
Garnacha de Viña Bonita is a Garnacha from a single 2.8 hectare plot of 80 years old. Fermentation is carried out in large wooden vats, and when fermentation has finished, the wine is decanted into 225 litre barrels, where malolactic fermentation takes place and the wine is aged for the right amount of time.

D.O. Vinos de Madrid
Although Madrid wines (Vinos de Madrid) are still relatively unknown among consumers, the region has enjoyed a prestige and historical past that dates back to the twelfth century. Current wines in the region however are far from the old wines of San Martín de Valdeiglesias, who in their golden years were perceived as some of the most prestigious wines in Spain. Today, the Vinos of Madrid face a highly competitive wine scene, but the effort local wineries regain this old prestige is evident in the quality of the wines being produced.
