Ganevat Kopin! is a white wine coupage of the Chardonnay, Savagnin and Riesling varieties produced by Anne et Jean-François Ganevat, as a Vin de France.
Ganevat Kopin! is a surprising wine that is made with Chardonnay grapes from Jura and Burgundy, and Savagnin and Riesling grapes from Alsace. When the grapes reach the winery, they are directly pressed and begin spontaneous fermentation with their own yeasts in 600-litre barrels. The wine is the result of mixing two vintages, 2017 and 2018, that have been bottled without clarifying, filtering or adding sulphites.
Jean-François Ganevat is a master in the art of winemaking, he overflows with creativity and explores all possible options with the aim of making sincere, environmentally friendly wines that surprise and excite.
At his Domaine, he produces around 40 different wines from 17 varieties and all of them are extraordinary. “Fanfan” Ganevat, as he is known to his friends, and his sister Anne Ganevat are the fourteenth generation of a family who have been making wine for centuries. This pair have transformed their family Domaine by starting to work with biodynamic principles in both the vineyard and the winery.
