Characteristics Franz Hirtzberger Rotes Tor Grüner Veltliner Federspiel
Franz Hirtzberger Rotes Tor Grüner Veltliner Federspiel is a white wine made by Hirtzberger with the Wachau region’s quintessential variety: Grüner Veltliner.
Franz Hirtzberger is a family winery in the town of Spitz (Lower Austria). Five generations have dedicated themselves in body and soul to cultivating the vineyards and producing wines on an estate dating back to the thirteenth century. A tradition that is complemented today with the use of new technologies.
Between the mountains and the Danube river, the Franz Hirtzberger Rotes Tor Grüner Veltliner Federspiel vineyards enjoy an ideal microclimate for the Grüner Veltliner variety to grow. These vineyards are cultivated using traditional agriculture, with short pruning, yield monitoring and rigorous selection. The harvest is carried out manually and in various stages.
The Franz Hirtzberger Rotes Tor Grüner Veltliner Federspiel grape is taken to the winery, destemmed and pressed. It is then vinified in stainless steel tanks with selected yeasts at a controlled temperature. It then ages on lees.
Franz Hirtzberger Rotes Tor Grüner Veltliner Federspiel is a subtle and light white wine full of natural nuances.
