François Crochet Sancerre Blanc is a biodynamic, barrel-aged white wine made by François Crochet in the AOC Sancerre (Loire) with the Sauvignon Blanc variety.
François Crochet is the third generation of winegrowers in the French town of Bué (Loire). In 1998, having spent time learning in different wineries in France and New Zealand, he returned home with his wife and took over the family winery. They have a total of 10 hectares that are characterised by the siliceous soils and biodynamic cultivation. In the winery they also intervene as little as possible, which results in refined, fresh and very precise limited productions.
François Crochet Sancerre Blanc is made from several different plots. A varied composition of soils ranging from limestone soils to clay and sand compounds. There is also some flint in the soils. Since 2017, all the vineyards are certified biodynamic and the harvest is carried out manually at the optimal point of ripeness.
In the winery, the grapes selected to make François Crochet Sancerre Blanc are pressed in a pneumatic press. After fermentation, it ages on fine lees in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature and with three pump overs every month. Finally the wine is filtered.
François Crochet Sancerre Blanc is a true Sauvignon Blanc. Fresh, lively and very clean, it is pure beauty and delicacy.
