Flor d'Albera is an aged white wine produced by the Martí Fabra winery in the D.O. Empordà with the Muscat Blanc à Petits Grains variety.

Martí Fabra is located in a 12th-century farmhouse owned by the Carreras family in the town of Sant Climent Sescebes in Alt Empordà (Girona). A 28-hectare estate with a great winemaking history that was rejuvenated with the arrival of the Fabra family in the early twentieth century, when they began to make wines with extraordinary elegance and personality.

Specifically, Flor d'Albera comes from a rigorous selection of old vines from the Masía Carreras estate. These strains are aged between 50 and 80 years old and planted on acidic, slate soils that are poor in organic matter. The vineyards are surrounded by a great diversity of plant species and influenced by the relentless Tramuntana wind. They use conventional agriculture and the harvest is carried out at the optimum point of ripeness.

In the winery, the grapes are traditionally vinified. Firstly, the Flor d'Albera grape is selected and destemmed. It is then pressed and vinified in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature. It then ages for 12 months in French oak barrels.

Flor d'Albera is a white wine that perfectly expresses both the unique characteristics of the terroir, as well as the complex and intense character of the traditional Muscat Blanc à Petits Grains variety.

The landscape of the region of Empordà, located in the northeast of Catalonia, is full of contrasts, due to the natural limits of the Pyrenees in the north and the Mediterranean Sea and magnificent Costa Brava in the east. Thanks to these, the Empordà is a unique place, a special territory between the sea and the mountains, marked by the presence of the north wind known as Tramontana.
