Characteristics Finca Viñoa
Finca Viñoa is a white wine from the D.O. Ribeiro produced by the Finca Viñoa winery. This wine is a blend of 5 different grape varieties: Treixadura (90%), Albariño (5%), Godello (3%) and Loureiro (2%).
The grapes used to make Finca Viñoa come from the estate, or finca in Spanish, that gave the product its name. The estate is located in the town of Banga. The vinyard spans across 12 hectares and is situated on terraces of granite walls at altitudes of between 180-350 meters. The vineyard is also home to various varieties of soils, including granite, sand and slate varieties.
The harvest is carried out manually, using boxes of 15 kilos capacity to prevent breakage and allow the fruit to arrive at the winery in the best possible condition.
At the winery, the grapes undergo temperature control by entering cold storage at 5ºC. The grapes then pass through a selection table where they are carefully selected bunch by bunch. Following this, the grapes are destemmed and macerate before they are pressed in a pneumatic press.
After separation of the musts has been carried out, a period of static racking takes place. Then before the ageing process the must of Finca Viñoa ferments at a controlled temperature.
Finally, Finca Viñoa is aged for 8 months on its lees. The wine is finally bottled after being stabilised.
