A Xarel·lo orange wine with a charitable focus
Style Estrany Solidari 2017
Characteristics Estrany Solidari
Estrany Solidari is a single-variety orange wine made with Xarel·lo by Celler Credo in the D.O. Penedès , in Catalonia, Spain.
The grapes used to make the Estrany Solidari wine come from plots with predominantly limestone soils that are cultivated according to the principles of organic and biodynamic agriculture.
The grapes ferment with their native yeasts and the must macerates with the skins in open oak vats for around a week. The resulting wine ages on its lees in stainless steel tanks for five months and is bottled with minimal intervention.
Celler Credo are considered Xarel·lo experts. This Mediterranean white variety is where they put all their focus, and it sets the course of this winemaking operation that seeks the maximum expression and qualities of the Xarel·lo grape.
Celler Credo is also committed to biodynamic viticulture, they are champions of life (bio) and of movement (dynamics), and their aim is to produce local wines. For the Estrany Solidari 2017 vintage, they joined forces with the “Verema Solidària” project, which raises money to fight poverty and social exclusion.
