Envínate Palo Blanco is a barrel-aged Listán Blanco variety white wine made by Envínate in the Orotava Valley.
Laura Ramos, Roberto Santana, Alfonso Torrente and José Ángel Martínez met in 2004 studying winemaking at the University of Elche, and a great friendship with a common aim was born: Envínate. A consultancy that advises different wineries and, at the same time, produces its own wines in the same areas they advise (Tenerife, Extremadura, Almansa, Montilla and Ribeira Sacra). Great supporters of unique vineyards and products tailored to the characteristics of the vintage, their wines are fresh and elegant, without the limelight being on the wood.
Envínate Palo Blanco comes from a vineyard of 1.5 hectares at 600 meters altitude in the Orotava Valley (Tenerife). Strains over 100 years old, planted on volcanic soils and using the region’s traditional braided cord vine training method.
Once the clusters reach the winery, they are pressed whole and the juice is left to rest. Envínate Palo Blanco ferments in concrete tanks with native yeasts and without temperature control. It does not undergo malolactic fermentation and it ages in oval oak foudres for 12 months.
Envínate Palo Blanco is the first white wine from the Orotava Valley made with the native Listán white variety from strains over 100 years old. A really original, easy to drink wine with a saline touch.
