Trusted Shops Reviews

Emina Sauvignon Blanco is a white wine made with the Sauvignon Blanc variety by the Emina Rueda Winery in D.O. Rueda.

As a result of its passion for the world of wine, Bodegas Familiares Matarromera creates this project, set in the D.O. Rueda and the D.O. Ribera de Duero. The name Emina comes from the word Beloved in Latin and also means the limited measure (Hemina) that the monks had to drink per day. Its wines combine tradition and innovation.

Emina Sauvignon Blanco comes from strains planted in loamy sandy soil on trellises. It has a buried irrigation system that saves water and produces few bunches per plant in order to achieve a quality raw material; a grape that enjoys a Mediterranean continental climate and that is harvested at the optimum time of ripening.

Once the grapes for Emina Sauvignon Blanco have been harvested, they are subjected to a thermal treatment in a cold room. They are then fermented in stainless steel tanks and left to rest in the wine with their fine lees.

The white wine Emina Sauvignon Blanco is the result of the idiosyncrasy of the D.O. Rueda.

When we talking about the Rueda wines, we are often referring to their white wines. The white wines produced in this region are often made with the Verdejo variety, the main variety of Rueda, planted along the Douro River and its tributaries. Rueda white wines often offer lots of floral notes, scrubland low, delicate aromas and a great acidity given by strong temperature differences between day and night. Apart from white wine, Rueda also produces red wine, often made with the Tempranillo variety.
