Edetària Via terra Rosat is a young rosé wine produced by the Edetària winery with the Garnacha Peluda variety in the D.O. Terra Alta (Tarragona).
In honour of the “Via Edetana”, an ancient Roman road, winemaker Joan Àngel Lliberia started this wine project in 2003 under the name of Edetària. He has a total of 50 hectares planted in 5 different terroirs in the town of Gandesa (Terra Alta). Through these, he is able to make very original wines and express the nature of each of the soils.
Edetària Via terra Rosat comes from the winery's youngest vines. Strains that grow in the valley known as “La Plana de Gandesa”, which is characterised by mild temperatures, low rainfall and Mediterranean Sea breezes. They use ecological agriculture and the harvest is carried out manually in 15 kg boxes.
In the winery, the Via Edetària Via terra Rosat grapes go through a cooling process for 48 hours. After a gentle destemming, the grapes are macerated with skins for a few hours at 5ºC. They are then devatted and fermentation begins in a stainless steel tank at a controlled temperature of 16ºC. Finally, it is left to rest with its fine lees before being bottled.
Made with an unknown native variety from Terra Alta, the Garnacha Peluda, Edetària Via terra Rosat is a sweet, intense and original wine for opening and enjoying with friends.
