Domaine Leflaive Mâcon-Verzé is a biodynamic Chardonnay variety white wine made in the AOC Mâcon-Verzé by Domaine Leflaive.
The Domaine Leflaive winery is located in Puligny-Montrachet, on the Beaune coast (Burgundy) and is world-renowned for its white wines. The beginnings of the domain date back to 1717, and over the years it has evolved constantly. Today, they are pioneers of biodynamic cultivation in the area.
Domaine Leflaive Mâcon-Verzé comes from 20 hectares of vineyards located in Mâconnais. Old vines planted in calcareous clay soil and cultivated with biodynamic preparations made through composting and plant infusions. No pesticides or any other chemicals are used, and the harvest is carried out manually when the grapes reach optimum ripeness.
Once the Domaine Leflaive Mâcon-Verzé grapes reach the winery, they are pressed gently and slowly with a pneumatic press. The resulting must is left to ferment and mature spontaneously with native yeasts in stainless steel tanks for about 15 months before being bottled.
Domaine Leflaive Mâcon-Verzé is a good example of a Chardonnnay wine from one of the best white wine regions with an international reputation.
