Characteristics Domaine Lafarge-Vial Fleurie Bel Air
Domaine Lafarge-Vial Fleurie Bel Air is a monovarietal Gamay red wine from the AOC Fleurie produced by the Domaine Lafarge-Vial.
Domaine Lafarge-Vial is a small winery located in Fleurie, in Beaujolais, named after the surnames of Frédéric and Chantal, the couple who runs it. The couple also has another winery in Côte de Beaune, but they began this project in southern Burgundy in 2014. Today they have several plots that together total 4.1 hectares. They cultivate them organically and biodynamically, and vinify according to the tradition of the area so that the grape fully expresses the terroir from which it comes. From the outset the winery has produced great Gamay wines from Fleurie and Brouilly.
The vineyard for Domaine Lafarge-Vial Fleurie Bel Air was planted in three stages: in 1950, 1969 and 1970. Its soils are of granite and face south and southeast. It is cultivated organically and biodynamically, although it is not yet certified.
Domaine Lafarge-Vial Fleurie Bel Air is vinified by destemming a large part of the vintage and vatting it with the rest that is left un-destemmed. It ferments with native yeasts in cement tanks, and once the wine is vinified it undergoes a refining ageing of 12 months in 228 and 350 litre used barrels.
Domaine Lafarge-Vial Fleurie Bel Air is a fresh and fruity wine with a fleshy mouthfeel that displays tension.
