Characteristics Domaine Gramenon Poignée de Raisins
Domaine Gramenon Poignée de Raisins is a young, natural and biodynamic red wine made with the Garnacha Tinta variety in the AOC Côtes du Rhône (France) by Domaine Gramenon.
In 1978, Philippe Laurent and Michèle Aubéry-Laurent founded Gramenon, acquiring 12 hectares of old vines in the village of Montbrison-sur-Lez. Following the accidental death of Philippe, Michèle and her son Maxime-François continued with the project, known for the use of biodynamic practices and natural winemaking processes. This way of working allows them to make wines with a great expression of the terroir, and the wines made here have become a benchmark for natural wines in France.
Domaine Gramenon Poignée de Raisins is made with the youngest vines on the estate. Strains that are no more than 30 years old and planted in clay and limestone soils at an altitude of 350 metres above sea level. Under Demeter certification, the vine is biodynamically cultivated to revitalise the soil and strengthen the plant’s defences. They achieve a yield of about 35 hl / ha and the harvest is carried out manually when the grapes are very ripe.
Domaine Gramenon Poignée de Raisins is naturally vinified. To do this, when the grape has been partially destemmed, it is left to macerate for 15 days in cement tanks. Fermentation takes place spontaneously with native yeasts and aging takes place over 6 months in stainless steel tanks. A minimum amount of sulphur is added, and only when necessary.
Domaine Gramenon Poignée de Raisins is a natural, full-bodied, fruity and rounded wine. A real basket of red fruits that is made through Michèle Aubéry-Laurent’s organic and biodynamic practices. She is, without doubt, one of the most influential French personalities in natural wine production.
