Domaine de Thalie Balancin Bourgogne is an organic red wine made by Domaine de Thalie with the Pinot Noir variety in the AOC Bourgogne, in Burgundy (France).
Domaine de Thalie is run by Peter Gierszewski, a winegrower who set up his own project in the Cluny hills. This is a small family estate with 4.5 hectares of vineyards cultivated using organic agriculture and minimal intervention. As a result of this work, they produce fresh, unique and characterful wines that are part of the Bourgogne, Mâcon-Bray and Crémant de Bourgogne denominations.
Domaine de Thalie Balancin Bourgogne comes from vineyards located in a perfect enclave 300 metres above sea level. The vines are planted in reddish clay and limestone soils and are cultivated with organic treatments and no chemical products.
In the winery, the Domaine de Thalie Balancin Bourgogne grapes macerate in whole bunches and ferment naturally with native yeasts. The wine is then aged for 10 months in used oak barrels. It is bottled without stabilising or filtering.
Made by winemaker Peter Gierszewski, Domaine de Thalie Balancin Bourgogne is a red wine made through minimal intervention. A fine, elegant and totally artisan wine.
