Domaine de la Vougeraie Bourgogne Chardonnay Terres de Famille is a single-variety Chardonnay white wine produced by Domaine de la Vougeraie in the AOC Bourgogne in Burgundy, France.
The grapes used to make Domaine de la Vougeraie Bourgogne Chardonnay Terres de Famille come from the south of Burgundy, from the towns of Le Combet Chalot and Corvée de Villy. The vineyards have limestone and clay soils. The bunches are harvested on “root day”, following the principles of biodynamic agriculture, towards the middle of September and when they reach the winery, they are pressed whole in a pneumatic press for two and a half hours. Fermentation begins in vats and ends in barrels. The resulting wine undergoes a combined aging of 12 months in barrels, 30% of which are new, and 4 months in stainless steel tanks.
The history of Domaine de la Vougeraie dates back to 1964 and it came about through the joining together of various properties since then. Jean-Charles and Nathalie Boisset, the generation currently running the winery, have returned to the roots of their childhood and now follow the principles of organic agriculture with the aim of producing wines full of purity that showcase the extraordinary terroirs they come from.
