Real reviews from customers who have purchased this product

Daterra Camino de la Frontera Blanco is a barrel-aged white wine made with the Malvasía, Verdejo and Puesta en Cruz varieties in Ribeira Sacra (Galicia) by Daterra Viticultores.

Laura Lorenzo, who runs Daterra Viticultores, is a winegrower and a force to be reckoned with. She has 4.5 hectares on steep terraces in the Bibei Valley that are heroically cultivated to achieve the maximum expression of terroir. This work culminates in the winery with the production of pure, mineral and Atlantic wines.

Daterra Camino de la Frontera Blanco comes vines planted in granite soil with sandy loam. These are old vines lying on steep terraces 650 metres above sea level that are cultivated according to biodynamic principles using organic treatments and natural preparations. The shape of the land requires heroic viticulture and a completely manual harvest using small 15 kg boxes.

Once the grapes reach the winery, they are destemmed and lightly crushed. They then undergo a 4-day skin-contact maceration and Daterra Camino de la Frontera Blanco ferments spontaneously with native yeasts in French oak barrels. Following coupage, the wine ages for 10 months in French and American oak barrels. When the wine is ready, it is bottled without clarifying or filtering and only adding minimal sulphites.

Daterra Camino de la Frontera Blanco is a white wine that reveals the full depth, freshness and minerality of a wine made with minimum intervention and the utmost respect.
