Characteristics Cristom Louise Vineyard Pinot Noir

Trusted Shops Reviews

Cristom Louise Vineyard Pinot Noir is a barrel-aged red wine made by Cristom Vinyards with the Pinot Noir variety in Villamette Valley, Oregon (USA).

Cristom Vineyard is an American winery whose founder Paul Gerrie teamed up with winemaker Cristom Steve Doerner and winery manager Marcos Feltz to make world-renowned Pinot Noir wines. With Low Input Viticulture and Enology (LIVE) certification, they guarantee sustainable agriculture in the vineyard and minimal intervention in the winery and as a result, they produce honest and expressive wines.

Cristom Louise Vineyard Pinot Noir comes from a very special vineyard. Named after Gerrie's great-grandmother, it has a spectacular diversity of silty soils that provide structure and minerality. The strains were planted in 1993 and have always been cultivated using sustainable and environmentally friendly agriculture. The harvest is carried out manually at the optimum point of ripeness.

Once the Cristom Louise Vineyard Pinot Noir grapes have been selected, 43% are destemmed and spontaneously fermented with native yeasts. Then the wine is transferred by gravity to French oak barrels, half of which are new, and it ages there for about 18 months.

Cristom Louise Vineyard Pinot Noir comes from one of the best-known American wine regions. Wines from the Willamette Valley stand out for their expressiveness and minerality, and this is clear to see in this particular wine. Pure emotion.
