Coto de Imaz Selección Viñedos is a red wine from the Rioja region produced by El Coto de Rioja. It is made using only Tempranillo grapes, the most common grape variety in the region.
Coto de Imaz Selección Viñedos comes from vines planted on trellises. The vineyards belong to the winery, who concentrate alot of their time and effort towards the cultivation of the vineyards.
The area is home to a continental climate with mediterranean and atlantic influences. The temperature in the area is relatively soft and the quantity of rainfall is ideal for wine production.
After the harvest and vinification processes are carried out, Coto de Imaz Selección Viñedos is aged. The wine spends one year in american oak barrels. Following this, it spends another 36 months resting in the bottle before being placed on the market.
El Coto Rioja was founded in 1970 by people who already had a vast experience in the sector. The winery now constantly reinvests its profits in improving facilities, acquiring vineyards and buying barrels.
Since its beginnings in 1970, the winery El Coto de Rioja has followed a policy of constant reinvestment that has not only meant doubling the size of its facilities, but also significantly increasing the extension of its own vineyard and the number of barrels for the ageing of its wines. In addition, the use of state-of-the-art technology has managed to harmonise the dimension, production volume and quality of the products with the aim of producing more and also achieving continuous improvements in their quality levels.
