Characteristics Conde de los Andes Tinto
Conde de los Andes Tinto is a red wine from the D.O. La Rioja produced by the Ollauri winery, a classic among classics. This wine is a single-variety Tempranillo, Rioja's grape par excellence, aged 50 years on average.
The climate in which the vineyard grows (located between Haro, Ollauri and Briñas, in La Rioja Alta) is continental Mediterranean, with a strong Atlantic influence. The soils are clayey and limestone, which provide high acidity.
After the harvest, the grape is left to ferment for three weeks in stainless steel tanks. They carry out different pumping overs during the production process in order to obtain more extraction and a more intense colour. Conde de los Andes Tinto is finally aged for 14 months in French oak barrels, half of which are new. Before being sold, it rests for 12 more months in the bottle.
