Mas d'en Blei is a small winery in the Priorat region. Located in La Morera de Montsant, it has 17 hectares of vineyards on the banks of the Siurana River where the winery and the old farmhouse (1756) blend in with the surroundings perfectly.
In 2006 the Ferrús Guaschfamily acquired this small property, and together with the winemaker Jordi Torrella recovered its agricultural value by planting more than 20 thousand vines, mostly indigenous varieties such as Garnacha and Cariñena, in order to start producing quality craft wines.
Clos Martina is a white wine made with Garnacha Blanca, Pedro Ximénez and Pansal, from the Mas d'en Blei estate, with slate-containing soils and slopes facing south-west.
The grapes are harvested manually and placed in 10-kg boxes. Once in the winery, the grapes are submitted to a table selection. Before the fermentation starts, they undergo cold maceration for 24 hours. Each variety is fermented separately in new 300 litre French oak barrels of fine grain and light medium toast. This wine is aged for 6 months in the same barrels with daily battonage. Before being put on the market, it is left to stand in the bottle for a minimum of 12 months.
