Clos Dominic Vinyes Altes Selecció Miriam is a barrel-aged red wine made with the Cariñena variety in the D.O.Q. Priorat (Catalonia) by Clos Dominic.

The Castillo-Bairaguet husband-wife team is what created Clos Dominic, a family project that is small but well-known around the world for their commitment to quality. Each of their wines are made through a great respect for the terroir, and they work in a way that is sustainable and with very little intervention. In the winery, they strive to create the minerality and depth that is typical of great Priorat wines.

Clos Dominic Vinyes Altes Selecció Miriam comes from one of the winery’s best assets, “La Tena”. A 7 hectare plot in the village of Porrera (Tarragona) with hundred-year-old vines planted on licorella soil, lying about 450 metres above sea level. This is an exceptional terroir with exceptional strains, cultivated using sustainable agriculture, taking into account the natural cycles of the vineyard and respecting the natural environment. The harvest is carried out manually when the grapes reach optimum ripeness.

In the winery, Clos Dominic Vinyes Altes Selecció Miriam ferments with native yeasts. Once the wine is made, it is left to age in one new, medium roasted French oak barrel for 18 months. Finally, it is bottled without using additives for clarification.

Clos Dominic Vinyes Altes Selecció Miriam is a red wine that reveals the depth and minerality that is typical of great Priorat wines. A very elegant concentration of flavours and aromas.

Priorat is craftsmanship and tradition, old and robust vines that are grown and born deep inside the province of Tarragona. They are grown on slopes that are sleety with low fertility and difficult to grow in. In Priorat they produce great red wines of an excellent quality, a maroon colour, robust, dense and rich flavour, intense aromas and sometimes there are reflections present of minerals from the soils.
