Château Le Puy Rose-Marie is a natural wood-aged rosé wine produced by Château Le Puy with the Merlot variety in the Bordeaux region (Vin de France).
Located in Libourne, Bordeaux, on the same rocky plateau as Saint Emilion and Pomerol, Château Le Puy is a family winery with four centuries of history. With a culture that respects the environment and the vineyard, the Amoreau family produce wines using natural methods. Doing this, they are able to offer the most exact expression of these terroirs and their indisputable quality.
Château Le Puy Rose-Marie comes from Merlot vines planted in red clay, silt and limestone soils and lying 110 metres above sea level. These are 50-year-old vines grown without chemical fertilisers, herbicides or insecticides, and using biodynamic treatments instead. Once the grapes reach optimum ripeness, they are manually selected in the vineyard.
After destemming in the winery, Château Le Puy Rose-Marie is made using the bleeding method in stainless steel tanks with native yeasts. Aging takes place in used barrels without any additives for 5-10 months. The wine is finally bottled without being filtered or adding sulphur.
Château Le Puy Rose-Marie is an intense, lively and deep rosé. A completely natural wine that, as the label says, is pure “Original Expression of Terroir” with great aging potential.
