Château d'Yquem 2019 is an exquisite sweet wine with a pleasant complexity on the nose where menthol aromas and very varietal notes of the Sauvignon Blanc grape appear. Artichoke, asparagus and a touch of iodine harmoniously and subtly accompany its honeyed and fruity aromas (apricot, quince, tangerine). The palate reveals energy and tension. A wine that is always sublime, with a masterful balance between acidity and sweetness that provides an unforgettable experience. It is easy to enjoy but difficult to describe.
Château d'Yquem 2003 is a perfectly tuned wine with hints of manduka honey, quince, honeycomb and nougat. It does not have the pixelation of a super top vintage. However, on the palate it is unctuous from the outset, with hedonistic fruit, sweet honey with orange zest and strong spicy notes in the finish. These have a moderate length, but it ends with an abundant glycerin that fills the mouth.
Château d'Yquem 2002 has aromas of dried honey, marzipan and melted candle wax. On the palate it opens up in a controlled manner, and has a fine acidity and a spicy core. The vintage results in a wine with a slight bitter edge that gives it distance and tension. It will keep perfectly in the bottle until 2035 or later.
Château d'Yquem 1998 has a powerful nose, with hints of candied ginger, honeycomb, crema Catalana, canned lemons, tangerine skin and musk perfume. On the palate it is beautifully balanced, with a perfect freshness that lightens its 134.4 grams of sugar per litre. It culminates with layers of fantastically persistent exotic spices. An exceptional vintage that can last up to 50 years or more in the bottle.
